1st annual Zoo Lights

I know I know...we are getting a jump on the Christmas festivities this year...but what can I say. I promise...they will learn about the pilgrims and the elves Indians real soon.

1st annual Zoo Lights! Yay! It was awesome!
Pop and Noni couldnt make it to Santa's Wonderland this year, but were super excited to join us at the Zoo.

A good part of the Zoo was closed off, I guess because they aren't equipped for a crowd in the dark, but there were more than enough lights and exhibits to see.

Look at that face! Wonder what goes on in that brain of his? Probably contemplating which super power he can harness to get through that glass...(ok...i went a little over board there...hehe)
And look at her face....I can't remember what specifically warranted that excitement  but if I had to guess....probably a piece of gum.

More fun times spoiling these precious children God gave us.

Santa's Wonderland 2012

On a serious note...how much do I love this place?
A lot.

Yes...We went to Santa's Wonderland....even BEFORE Thanksgiving this year. (and I wonder why...in Feb 2013 Kolbie is still singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas")- shhh pay no attention to how far behind I am at updating this thing...ok...no more rants...

So...we decided to go a tad bit early this year. I couldn't help it. I was just so excited! The kids were too, and lets face it...they needed to incentive for acquiring a position of the nice list...
So, we grabbed GG and the Aunts and headed to Santa Town. None of them had ever been, boy were they in for a treat!

I dont think I Webster will ever be able to define the feeling in my heart when I see the excitement these too get before they get to sit with the man himself. Aunt B and Aunt Meag couldn't stand it and had to sit on his knee for shot too, but...your welcome Aunt Meag for sparing you the embarrassment of that photograph ;)

Seriously...could there have been more smiles?

Totally worth being crammed in a acre or 2 of Christmas bliss with a zillion of your closest friends.

1st stop at the Ice Cream truck

I know...its a little ridiculous that my children are 2 and 4 and this is there first experience with the ice cream truck.  It totally brought back memories of me and the cousins running down the street with our dollar bills flying in the air, fresh from Big  Daddy's pocket after he tortured us by waiting til the last minute to give up the goods! Our little hearts racing thinking we may actually miss it this time. Poor kids, if we only knew...those truck would stop even for a dime! Oh the good old days.
Now I realize, Ive just set myself up for the next time Pop goes the Weasel comes blaring around the corner.
Oh how I love to spoil these children!

( I can't really take all the credit...Daddy was all over his $$ before that truck even hit our street:)

Old MacDonalds Farm

We have this cute little place about 20 min from the house called Old MacDonalds Farm that we have been wanting to go to. Its kind of embarrassing that we haven't been yet, but I drove by the other day and saw their pumpkin patch up and running so I decided it was time! The kids were super excited about it, and to add to it Aunt Mel, Brynlee and Chance came to! The weather was unbelievably perfect and every body had their smiles on. It was super fun filled day!

1st born's 4th Birthday

It's crazy because I find myself thinking,"He's so big...I hope doesn't stop doing all the cute and adorable things little kids do!" . And stuff like "His Dad remembers things from when he was 4, I wonder what he will remember?"
It seems like so many changes come from turning 4. Maybe they are all in my head...but I swear I can see him change right before my eyes.

Kaylon 4 weeks old

Kaylon 4 years old

So, I thought it might be a nice tradition to try and answer some questions to document who he is today. Granted the answers to the questions will most definitely be different by tomorrow...but it was fun to see his answers.

1. What is your favorite color?  Green and blue
2. What is your favorite toy? My Woody
3. What is your favorite fruit?  Pizza (really strawberries, but he said Pizza)
4. What is your favorite tv show?  Spider Man and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Thor, and Iron Man, and Captain America
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Pizza
6. What is your favorite outfit?  My costumes…Hulk
7. What is your favorite game? Hockey!!???
8. What is your favorite snack?
 Vegetables

9. What is your favorite animal?  Lion
10. What is your favorite song?  (Made Up lyrics) and Barney
11. What is your favorite book?  Barney, Mother Goose
12. Who is your best friend?  Ronson
13. What is your favorite cereal? Scooby Doo where are you
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside?  Play Scooby Doo where are you
15. What is your favorite drink?  Scooby Snacks
16. What is your favorite holiday?  No answer
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? My Woody
18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?  Scooby Snacks
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday?  A cake
20. What do you want to be when you grow up? Peter Pan

For the record...we really DONT eat pizza THAT much, and Scooby Doo...Not sure where any of those answers come from. We have given Lucy scooby snacks before, and I wouldnt be shocked of he tried them, but I have never witnessed the act. And for documentation sake, he is clearly a Super Hero 99%of the day...indoor or outdoor play.

I love this kids more than I ever knew possible. Even though he drives me to my wits end on a dailybases. He and his sister are the reasons my heart beat.

Happy 4th birthday to my sweet baby boy!

Emergency Room

Well...that's it. Daddy is buying her a bubble. My poor baby girl needs to catch a break!
She and big brother were bathing in our tub Saturday night when I caught her crawling out of the back of the tub on to the ledge. I hollered at her to get back in the tub. Startling her as she was sliding herself back into the tub, she bumped into one of the candle sticks I had displayed and it came crashing down. It hit the tub just right to break it and the heaviest part came sliding down getting Kolbie right smack in the lower thigh just above her knee.
It was slow motion for me. I saw the candle teeter tottering, I saw it hit the the tub and as I was running I saw her leg. Ryan tells me I let out a scream but all I know is I saw my poor baby's flesh gushing blood and white matter that's supposed to be kept inside hanging on the outside. I yanked her up and was there with a towel putting pressure on it while I was trying to comfort her and her brother that everything was ok. Daddy was 2 steps behind me swiping up Kaylon to make sure he was ok as he kept crying "I love my Sissy, I love my Sissy" over and over again. Daddy got everybody dressed while I was still holding on to Kolbie's mutilated leg.
Once we got to the ER, Grammy met us to pick up Kaylon and they called us back. The doctor made sure we would be ok to hold her down while the nurse helped us and assisted the doctor in her exam and procedure. I will never forget the look on her eyes when that doctor stuck her right in her wound with the local anesthetic. They had her wrapped up in a sheet so she wouldn't move, but I was laying across her chest to hold her and make sure she couldn't see and Daddy was holding her hand and her head. It's a good thing to because she is a strong little girl. She was mortified and I'm sure traumatized from all that was going on.
She actually did very very well. She wasn't crying in car ride or in the waiting room while I'm sitting there with a blood soaked towel nearly cutting off the circulation on her leg. She did say during her screams that she wanted to her Daddy and me and no more doctor! Who could blame her.
Needless to say she got nine stitches, two underneath and seven on top. Those are to come out in 7 to 10 days during that time she needs to take her antibiotic every six hours to prevent infection apparently the antibiotics she is on for her ears won't cut it with skin infections. So now she's on two antibiotics, eardrops and pain medicine. Heaven help our medical bills. But it could've been worse! I am thankful that Kaylon wasn't hurt too.

My poor baby

Kolbie has had her a rough couple if weeks. 2 weeks ago she woke up in the middle of the night with a high fever. I went ahead and took her to the doctor and they tested her for the flu since her fever was so high. Turns out the test was POSITIVE influenza virus A strand. She was sick for a solid 7 days with a fever up to 105.2. Sick little girl. Once she broke her fever, she was well enough to go back to school. Or so I thought. The night b4 her 1st day back at school I noticed her ear was draining, but I really wasn't concerned thinking it may just be her sinus' draining from the after shock of the flu. At school the next day her poor ear was like a faucet...so I went ahead and took her back to the doctor. It was a good thing I did too because it turns out she has ruptured her ear drums. Not just the one that was leaking but BOTH her ear drums.
I felt like one guilty Momma. I knew she was fussy and not feeling good but I had no idea she was in so much pain from her ears too. I couldn't help myself but cry to the doctor. She tried to comfort me by sympathizing that kids her age just can't communicate the pain sometimes. It didn't help. I've been sick to my stomach replaying all her actions in my head thinking I must have just missed her telling me they hurt, and recalling some stories I have heard from others about how much it hurt them. Ugh! I hate it! Anyway, she's back to the doctor in a couple weeks to make sure she has healed up fine and her hearing is normal. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Blueberry Picking 2012

This time we made a play date out of our blueberry picking and went with our friends The Woodell's.This year we went late like around 7 o'clock PM. (Note to self this is the way to do it every year!) The weather wasn't too hot, the park wasn't too crowded, and there were plenty of berries. The kids were running around having a good time picking berries, tasting them, climbing up the bushes, and jumping off of sand piles. Unfortunately we would have brought home more berries but Kolbie Michelle kept DUMPING them out! As we were picking, she was unpacking! ( 2nd note to self- Kolbie doesn't get to hold the bucket next year!!!)

1st pool day Summer 2012

Every summer I get nervous about swimming pools and water play as any mother does. My Super Hero has no fear, and her Majesty is indecisive from day to day. I know they loooove bath time and can stay in there for an hour no problem, but in my eyes the pool is a whole different ball game. Anyway, when I decided it was time to go for it , both of them were all in. We dressed, rubbed on some sunscreen, grabbed our towels, and headed to Dayton!

As I expected. NO FEAR from the hero of course. I walked him down the steps, and that was it, He took off...only to be rescued once for drifting to far off into the deep end.

Her Majesty was a little prissy and wanted to stay on the steps or cling herself on to me or Amanda. She did venture off one and jumped in. I let her head go under of course and she was pretty mad at me about that. She'll live.

Never the less, SUMMER..Here We COME!! Pool time, water play, Pirates Bay....stay tuned!
