Sick, Sick, Sick

For the last week my whole family has been under the weather. It all started with me feeling the blues last Sunday, then when I awoke on Monday, I had no voice at all and an extremely sore throat. Thanks to Noni Patti I was able to see the doctor asap. He thought I had strep throat, but my culture came back negative. Thank goodness. By Tuesday, Ryan was having the same symptoms. Needless to say Pop and Noni came to the rescue and watched Kaylon all night long for the very 1st time.On Wednesday, at the time, I would have swore I was on my death bed. I couldn't hardly move. My whole body hurt so bad. So, Mema picked us up and we showed back up at Patti's office unannounced hoping to see the doctor. When I saw Patti, I just started crying I couldn't even explain how bad I felt. I'm not used to being sick, especially that sick. The doc checked me for the flu, again test was negative. He gave me some new meds, and we were off to Kaylon's 6 month check up. He measured 25 inches and 15 lbs 8 oz. She changed his formula, gave him 3 shots, and we are in the clear until 9 months, and no shots until 12 months, thank goodness. Kaylon got a fever from his shots, which is normal, but the rest of the day he didn't feel good at all.Ryan went to work as always, but he was feeling worse and worse too. So Wednesday, Pop and Noni were life savers again and kept Kaylon all night long despite him being feverish and knowing it was going to be a rough night. As bed as we felt pawning our son off on the grandparents, we were in bed and asleep in no time. Thursday came, and I made the turn to getting better, but my body was just so weak that GG had to come save us and help out with Kaylon all day. I woke up Friday much much better, But Ryan was ridiculously sick by then. He went to work anyway, but he was able to come home by lunch time. So I packed us up and headed home to Crosby. We didn't leave the house all weekend. Ryan and Kaylon slept a lot. Ryan is better today, but Kaylon now has a cough, and you can tell he doesn't feel very well. He definitely has the "sick eyes." If he gets much worse we will go back to the doctors office tomorrow. For the whole week we were just one big germ stew. Hopefully this week will be much better than the last!

Beautiful Baby

So...I found out today that I was not made to be a pageant mom. We found out a baby pageant was in town at Baybrook Mall at 6:30 pm or in Baytown at noon. We didn't have anything better to do so we decided late friday night that we would go ahead and enter our beautiful baby in the boys under 1 category. From the time we decided to go ahead and enter till this very moment I HAVE NEEDED A XANEX!! I have been stressed out! Why ....I don't know. I guess I was nervous that someone would tell me he wasn't as beautiful as I think he is. So, why would I subject myself to that? I don't know, but I literally lost sleep over it. I know, I'm ridiculous. Anyway, We entered Kaylon in the prettiest smile and beautiful eyes categories. He won most beautiful eyes and 1st runner up over all. That won our fees paid to the state pageant in Houston on Memorial day weekend. That being said, I can't handle it. I am satisfied (now) with being 1st runner up and our pageant days have come to an end. (silent note: I think it was rigged because no way was the winner cuter than Kaylon...NO WAY!)

An all nighter!!

Brace yourselves...it took 5 months 3 weeks and 2 days...but we did it! Kaylon fell asleep at 9 pm last night and woke up this morning at 6:30. No breaks, no diaper changes, no binky's, and no bottles. That is 9 and 1/2 HOURS FOLKS!!! I was so long I couldn't help myself but to wake up and check to see if he was breathing! Believe you me, after I felt his hot breath... I didn't dare disturb my sweet bundle of joy. I let him get as much shut eye as he needed. My baby is a big boy now! It almost makes me sad, but then I remember how sleep deprived I was and the feeling of sadness is easily replaced with a feeling of sweet relief! Keep your fingers and toes crossed (maybe even your eyes for good measure) that he can keep up the good bedtime behavior.

The Girls are in town

Kaylon gets to spend some quality time with his Aunt Meag and Aunt B this week. We only see them once or twice a month since they are in school and so far away. But not this week! Its spring BREAK!! You'd think we'd go to the beach or something... Nope. Not us! We hit the malls! Meagan got her colors tested at the Mac counter. She was thrilled about that. We looked for her some prom dresses, but nothing yet. Britt got some cute outfits from Dots...we love that store. And Kaylon got some new stuff, mainly an Easter basket. He has 2 now, because I keep seeing such cute ones, that now I've given myself to many options that I don't know WHAT to do. Thats me though. Indecisive! I'll just ask Ryan which one he likes best...and then pick the other one! (so he says anyway!) Ok, back to the point. We are so happy when the girls come and visit. Because we don't get to see them as much as we'd like, when we do...its very special. We can't for summer!

Side Bar: Kaylon is almost 6 months...stay posted for new portraits...they are on the way!

They are here!!!

Tuesday at 6:16 pm Brynlee made her entrance into this world at 5 lbs 15oz and 18 1/8 in long. Chance was a little harder to get here, I'll spare you the gory details, but made it here at 6:49 pm and 17 3/4in long. They are both soooo beautiful. Mommy I'm sure is very sore, but everyone is doing fine. Hopefully everyone will be going home on Friday. I can't believe Kaylon was a whole pound less than they are. It makes me realize how tiny he really was. Here they are. Chance is on the left in the blue hat, and Brynlee is on the right.

Expanding the family tree

As most of you know, Sean and Melissa are expecting twins. Turns out they will be here soon! What we understand is Melissa is to be admitted to SLEH on the 10th for an induction the morning of the 11th. That is, of course, if the twins don't have plans of their own to show up any sooner than that. I believe that will put her right at 37 weeks gestation, which is phenomenal when you are caring multiples. Their last growth scan estimated Brynlee to be over 5 lbs and Chance to be over 6 lbs. So, its looking like we are going to get some big healthy babies. Please keep Sean and Melissa in your thoughts, because the world as they know it is about to change!

Mema

Ryan and I were riding around in the car just the other day when we came upon the discussion of the "grandma names." It seems as though the entire nine months we were pregnant, the grandma names were a frequent topic of discussion. I told Ryan since Kaylon is here, I guess I better start thinking of MY grandma name! I informed him that I didn't even have to think about it. I want to be Mema!!! Needless to say, when Kaylon and I went to visit with Mema, I filled her in on our little conversation. She thought it was pretty funny that we would be discussing such a thing, as did I. But, the important part of this whole story is that she said when she didn't need it anymore I could have it. So look out all, I'm going to be Mema! (in about 30 years or more!)...oh, and Ryan, he didn't have any idea what his grandpa name was going to be. I guess he has plenty of time to think about it. The things we think of to talk about. Crazy, I know!

Reserve Grand Champion!!!

The 3 Forey's attended Meagan's show this last weekend. It was Kaylon's 1st livestock show. He wasn't to sure about all the smells, to say the least. Dooney, Meagan's steer, was awarded 1st in his weight class. For those who don't know, each student that places 1st in their weight class all come together for a final survey to determine a champion. After she was awarded 1st place, she was also called back for showmanship. After the judges deliberation, he explained how two 1st place steers stood out and how this was a hard decision for him because he would have to scrutinize small details. Turns out one steers rear end was not as prominent as the others and therefore awarded Meagan RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION!! Wooo Hooo. Turns out Dooney's back side is a little small. I personally don't think that is a bad trait to have!!! Anyway, Saturday was the auction and Dooney sold for $10,000!!!! Cha Ching! I just wanted to say to Meagan, 1st place or last...We are soooooooooooooo proud of you!
